Initial Ideas for Miss Havisham Look

So this was my initial design idea for Miss Havisham, I wanted to take it very literal. I had the idea to make her look very old and decayed, I would probably placed her to the end of her life.

I decided to make her look very grey as in the book she says she hadn't seen a drop of sunlight in years - so her skin would have been lifeless and dull.

I see Miss Havisham as being Malnourished so I was going to make her face look very sunken in by contouring her cheek bones very heavily for that appear that she had no meat on her bones.

However.................

I've decided to change my Idea as I wanted to push myself, I liked my initial idea however it looked slightly boring. So I racked my brains on what to create for my Final piece, I decided in the end to leave my comfort zone of normal make up and go down the route of Prosthetic's as I'd been really enjoying learning about it in my technical lessons with Sue. So I'm going to recreate Miss Havisham Burning.

Here are some inspiration for SFX Burns Makeup.............

When I came across this image a loved the Grotesque look this had. It looks so realistic - what makes it look realistic is that they've create fake patches of melted skin and left the rest of the burn red and sore looking.

Also when you look closer what else makes it realistic is that they've made the ear look burnt. I think it's important to make sure to look from every angle and to think what would actually happen if someone was actually burning.

I've been researching on YouTube videos which give an in depth explaination on how to create a realistic SFX burn. Below is a video I found look really realistic, I also think this wouldn't be to hard to recreate or get inspiration.

I really liked this SFX Burn Makeup too as the Artist has really thought about how the skin would look and what would be underneath the skin. Again they've included the ear. This looks like it takes a long time as there is a lot of detail for example they've had to fill in all the gaps with red cream and fake blood. They've added the detail of crisp black burnt skin too.

I think in the time I have for the Assessment I'm going to stick to only half the face. I also like the idea of also bring the burn onto part of the hand. However I think the problem I will face again is the time issue as we only have two hours to create the hair and makeup. Also another issue I might face is the continuity aspect, as the week after I have to create the same look identically.
